Quirin and Stefan met at ETH Zurich, where casual encounters during everyday work quickly turned into a friendship. What connected us beyond science: a shared passion for sending real greeting cards — not out of nostalgia, but out of conviction that in a fast-paced, digital world, a beautiful and above all humorous card simply lasts, be it on the fridge, on the desk, and in memory. We both love to travel and wherever we go, greeting cards play an important role. Yet it wasn’t just our shared enthusiasm for cards but also the frustration of rarely finding original, funny designs. In 2025, Stefan joined Quirin on a multiweek sailing trip and somewhere between wind and waves, in a conversation about home, travelling, and friendship, the idea struck: why not design our own? Not much later, Lachfang was born: half hobby, half business, 100% conviction. Greeting cards that celebrate Switzerland – its beauty, its traditions, and its charming little quirks.
